The US President reposted a New York Post article with offensive content and later said at a press conference that Europe was moving "in the wrong direction."
The article in question was a New York Post article by Dominic Green, a Wall Street Journal contributor and fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. The article, titled "Impotent Europeans Can Only Fume as Trump Rightly Sidelines Them from the Ukraine Deal," apparently resonated with Trump, who had previously frequently criticized the publication for criticizing him.
Trump reposted the post. A few hours later, at a meeting with reporters, the US president stated that "Europe should be very careful."
"We want to preserve Europe. But Europe is moving in the wrong direction. We don't want Europe to change that much," Trump said.

He also mentioned the war in Ukraine in his now-familiar vein, saying that if he were president, the war wouldn't have started. But he also recalled that it was he, not Barack Obama, who gave Ukraine Javelins, while Obama "gave nothing."
"Biden gave Ukraine $350 billion. You know what I gave them? Nothing. Well, first I gave them Javelins to knock out tanks," Trump said.
He also, as usual, berated an ABC News journalist for asking him about the attacks on boats off the coast of Venezuela. The Pentagon continues to claim that these vessels are transporting drugs, but provides no evidence.
Trump said it was "fake news" and told the journalist she was the "worst journalist in the world."
"You're a terrible, terrible reporter. It's always the same with you," Trump said.
As a reminder, the European leaders' talks took place in Paris. Volodymyr Zelenskyy left the talks without commenting to the media. Later, the head of state shared on social media what he had discussed with his colleagues during the meeting.
